Fake Samsung 64GB microSD card

Fake Samsung 64GB microSD card from DHgate.com and Aliexpress.com
News:
- China's Alibaba spent $160m fighting fake goods
- Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Puma and other fashion brands sue Alibaba over 'counterfeit goods'

Original 64GB microSD card should be inside the package with info: 64GB.
Fake microSD card is inside the fake package
with typos and wrong volume 2- 32GB

3.7GB of 64GB is only good memory.
Below photos show different packages of the fake Samsung 64GB microSD cards from DHgate.com and Aliexpress.com.

Typos: 'Fomat' instead of 'Format'; 'samsung' instead of 'Samsung'; 'menorycard' instead of 'memorycard'

Testing (H2testw): 3.7GB instead of 64GB

Compare: H2testw testing of the good 64GB microSD card

All these cards are selling on Ebay.com, Amazon.com, DHgate.com, Aliexpress.com for cheaper price than original from Samsung Corporation.
Don't buy it to support an illegal profit of the sellers from DHgate.com and Aliexpress.com.
Download  H2testw to test your SD card or Flash drive.

From SAMSUNG Customer Support Center:
"I truly apologize for the inconveniences you have experienced recently with the website and with the fake SD card that you purchased from a company misrepresenting Samsung. . Your concerns are indeed taken very seriously, and the web master has been notified about your concerns."

Don't waist your money to buy any well-known brand electronics from DHgate.com and Aliexpress.com. All well-known brand electronics are fake if seller doesn't have authorized permission from well-known company.

  2. Good thing I read this. I was about to buy some cards from aliexpress.com. I texted to ask about the actual capacity of the card because it stated some BS about virtual capacity and actual. As far as I know there's no such thing as virtual capacuy. If an sd card claims 64gb it should have at least 63gb of usable space. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Agentmiklo2@gmail.com Alex V.

    1. You're partly right/wrong, there is always "overhead" (memory used to interface with the OS, track file locations, bad sectors, etc.) and it's more like 2-5GB, so 59-62GB usable.

Any more than that would indicate either a bad card or a counterfeit.

    2. On the printed label of the fake SD card will be 64GB.
Your PC or tablet will show volume between 62-63 GB. But if you try to copy to the fake 64GB SD card the files more than 4GB all files will be corrupted or previous written files will be disappeared. The test result of the fake 64GB cards by 'H2testw' will show volume between 3.5 - 3.7GB.

    3. All sellers from DHgate.com or Aliexpress.com have the fake 64GB SD cards if the price of these cards are low ($7-$14) and the retail package volume is not match printed label on the SD cards (for example: printed label on the SD card 64GB but volume on the retail package is 2-32GB).
Most important is test result of the fake 64GB SD cards. Real good memory is about 3.5-3.7GB. Your PC or tablet will show volume between 62-63 GB but if you try to copy the files more than 4GB all files will be corrupted or previous written files will be disappeared.
China fake factories use the trick to cheat customers: PC or tablet shows memory volume about what printed on the SD card case but real not corrupted memory is much less.

  4. You missed a LOT of the typos, and they are fixing them and still selling these cards. The funniest typo I saw was "ultra-dear mode" lol

    1. The typos are funny but so far many people still believe in China electronics.
Any well-known brands are fake if they sell through any China websites like DHgate.com. Another place is ebay.com where many sellers from USA or Europe try to sell the same fake electronics previously bought from the fake China websites.

    1. First, go to http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage-accessories
and you will see all microSD cards by Samsung.
Second, don't buy any microSD cards if seller doesn't show retail package.
Third, one of your link shows real microSD card but price is too high: http://amazon.com and http://rakuten.com show less price for the same Samsung microSD 64GB Pro.

  6. I just got duped from "Dancy Lee" on Ali Express. Found mistakes on packaging, speed test doesn't meet class 10 specs, and h2testw shows 6.7GB can be verified of 31GB (due to some content on the card already, I'm guessing it's really an 8GB class 6 card that was relabeled as a Samsung 32GB Class 10).

I would be careful about posting the exact mistakes as it tips of the producers to correct them and make better counterfeit packaging.

The first thing that tipped me off was it said "Made in Taiwan", second was that I immediately had photos getting corrupt on my phones.

    Can I re-use these as 8GB cards?

  7. You can download Free Partition Software - MiniTool® Partition Wizard Home Edition and resize your fake 32GB SD card to 6.7GB. Don't resize to 8GB.

    1. Aliexpress and DHgate are the middleman services. There are too many local companies or persons (sellers) from Asia tried to make money on the fake products. But the real manufactures of the fake products are not reachable (hidden) by any well-know company like Samsung. Middleman services are not responsible for the fake products. Sellers should accept return if product is not as described. That's it.
I see protection from credit card companies only: some of them are not accepted any payment associated with DHgate or Aliexpress.

    1. That link shows the fake Samsung 64GB microSD card for $12.99 and free shipping because Samsung doesn't have microSD cards with that design, period.

  10. Any difference on the front?
I remember I saw a 1TB usb memory key, cheaper than an external HDD

  11. The best way to figure out if SD card isn't fake everybody should go to the company website of that SD card to see that card. If the front panel or package isn't what you see on the fake website don't buy it. DHgate.com and Aliexpress.com or similar websites just make profit from the sellers and doesn't care about quality of the product. Samsung and other well known brands allow to sell their new product to authorized retailer only!
DHgate.com and Aliexpress.com sellers are not authorized retailers!

  18. It is usually disappointing and heart breaking when you spend your money to buy an electronic gadget and later discover that it was not genuine and it is no longer functioning. I hope the manufactures of the listed electronics will be keen to ensure that they only sale genuine gadgets that will meet the demands of the customers.
